Electricity for Boboyo – Visit of the German ambassador

Health care station, computer room of the secondary school, multifunctional centre – these three facilities built by ident.africa are now permanently connected to the power grid. Due to the financial support of the German embassy, Boboyo is now connected to the Cameroon electrical power net with. The total financial assistance to Boboyo was 13.000 Euro.

Mr. Reinhard Buchholz, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Yaounde/Cameroon and Mr. Fred-Eric Essam, board leader of ident.africa, visited the village Boboyo together. Both of them were informed about the project in detail and visited the facilities afterwards.

Multifunctional centre:
In this facility alphabetization courses are held for the adults in order to allow them to learn to read, to write and to calculate. This facility was especially build for the women of the village in order to have a community room in which they can learn how to sew, but they can also get support in topics such as family organization.

Health care station in Zaklang:
The front and the roof of the health care station were completed with the delegation from Germany in October 2010. The interior was completed at the beginning of 2011. With a connection to the power grid the inhabitants of the secluded regions of Boboyo can now be medically treated without the need to walk for very long distances.

Computer room:
The pupils from the gymnasium in Boboyo are now able to use of all of the computers sponsored by ident.africa for their education. Finally, computer classes are the standard for these pupils.

Thanks to the German embassy in Yaounde and Mr. Reinhard Buchholz, ident.africa was able to facilitate a reliable power supply in Boboyo.  For the sustainable development in this rural area, the electric power supply is a must have.
